Matlen Silver is seeking a General Ledger Specialist to support core banking migrations, system cutovers, and financial implementations. The role focuses on GL mapping, subledger-to-GL balancing, journal verification, and account reconciliations during mock conversions, testing, and live go-lives.

Candidates with bank/financial-institution experience and solid GL knowledge are preferred; travel is approximately 50-60% with occasional longer trips, and remote work is supported.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent professional accounting experience.
• Previous accounting or finance experience within a bank, credit union, or financial institution.
• Strong understanding of General Ledger accounting workflows.
• Strong knowledge of chart of accounts structures and GL mapping.
• Experience researching and resolving out-of-balance conditions.
• Hands-on experience with complex account and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Experience preparing, reviewing, and posting journal entries.
• Experience supporting system cutovers, testing, implementations, or financial system migrations.
• Ability to support test script validation and post-migration financial tie-outs.
• Willingness and ability to travel approximately 50%-60%, typically 1-2 trips per month lasting 6-9 days.

Job Summary: Matlen Silver is seeking a General Ledger Specialist to support core banking migrations, system cutovers, and operational implementations within the financial services industry. This position will focus heavily on General Ledger mapping, subledger-to-GL balancing, journal entry verification, account reconciliation, and financial tie-outs throughout mock conversions, testing cycles, and live go-live events. The ideal candidate has hands-on accounting experience within a bank, credit union, or other financial institution and a strong understanding of General Ledger operations. Experience supporting core banking conversions or system implementations is highly preferred.

• Experience preparing, reviewing, and posting journal entries.
• Experience supporting system cutovers, testing, implementations, or financial system migrations.
• Ability to support test script validation and post-migration financial tie-outs.
• Willingness and ability to travel approximately 50%-60%, generally 1-2 trips per month lasting approximately 6-9 consecutive days.
• Ability to work extended and non-traditional hours during critical cutover and go-live periods, including evenings, weekends, late nights, and potentially overnight shifts.

• Standard Monday-Friday business hours during steady-state periods.
• Extended hours may be required during mock conversions, trial balance cutovers, and live implementations.
