Job summary

Mark Cuban Cost Plus Drug Company seeks a hands-on General Ledger / P&L Accounting Supervisor to lead the month-end close, ensure ledger integrity, and develop staff accountants.

You will oversee journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements, partner with government accounting on cost allocations, support audits, and drive process improvements in a growth-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• 1–2 years supervising, mentoring, or leading accounting staff.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP.
• CPA designation preferred.
• Public accounting and industry experience preferred.
• Experience in manufacturing/government contractor environments preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
• Own GL integrity: journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, supporting docs.
• Prepare and review income statements and balance sheets with variance analysis.
• Supervise, mentor, and develop staff accountants; ensure timely work.
• Maintain chart of accounts; ensure GAAP compliance.
• Oversee accounting for fixed assets, prepaids, intercompany activity.
• Partner with government accounting on cost allocations and shared services.
• Support internal and external audits; prepare schedules and responses.
• Identify and implement process improvements across the close cycle.
• Build scalable accounting processes and controls for growth.
