Job summary

PPMM is seeking a General Ledger Accountant to manage the full accounting cycle, including journaling, reconciliations, and reporting. You will ensure GAAP compliance and provide guidance to staff while maintaining accuracy in financial statements.

The role requires handling payroll-related entries, preparing schedules for audits, and delivering timely reports to management and external agencies. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field; or 5 years of accounting experience in lieu of degree.
• Knowledge of GAAP and governmental standards; strong work ethic and integrity.
• Proficiency in Excel and accounting software; ability to prepare and analyze journal entries and financial data.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and reconcile balance sheet and income/expense accounts to the general ledger monthly.
• Prepare monthly payroll journal entries, including accruals and adjusting entries.
• Review and approve journal entries, ensuring accuracy and GAAP compliance.
• Prepare audit reconciliation schedules and provide documentation for audits.
• Generate reports for management and external stakeholders and meet deadlines.
