Job Description

The General Ledger Accountant II is a mid-level accounting position responsible for month-end closing and financial statement preparation for multiple entities (Non-Profit Corporations) with a moderate level of complexity. This is an accounting support position in a fast-paced centralized accounting services environment providing financial services to community associations throughout North America. Candidates for this position must meet Associa’s credit requirements.

Job Responsibilities:
  1. Month-end closing and financial statement preparation for multiple entities (Non-Profit Corporations) with varying attributes.
  2. Process and review monthly bank and balance sheet reconciliations.
  3. Develop and enter accruals, amortization, adjustments, and reclassifications.
  4. Assist with budget development and administration.
  5. Perform Year-End close.
  6. Support community Association Managers (CAM), Branch Financial Accounting Support Person (FASP), and Association Board of Directors (BOD) as requested.
  7. Collaborate with supporting departments (A/R, A/P, Data Management, Delinquency, Tax, Banking) on issue resolution.
  8. Occasional work on weekends may be required.
  9. Perform other duties as assigned.
  10. This position is eligible for telecommuting based on business needs and performance.
Requirements
Knowledge and Skills
  1. Ability to interpret and apply industry-related law.
  2. Experience in general ledger accounting.
  3. Understanding of A/P and A/R transaction processes.
  4. Ability to manage multiple entities, meet deadlines with accuracy, and attention to detail.
  5. Experience in month-end close processes and bank reconciliations.
  6. Experience in budget development and implementation.
  7. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  8. Good written and verbal communication skills.
  9. Complete Control for Communities (C3) software experience is a plus.
  10. Understanding or experience in the Community Association Management Industry is preferred.
  11. Experience working in an Accounting Shared Services Center environment is preferred.
Education And Experience
  1. Associates Degree in Accounting or equivalent work experience (4 years progressive responsibility) and 2 years full cycle General Ledger accounting experience OR Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and 1 year full cycle general ledger accounting experience.
  2. Knowledge of GAAP and AICPA guidelines.
