About The Position

The Accountant I is responsible for preparing, analyzing, and reviewing financial statements using accounting principles. This is an opportunity to make a difference and have an impact on a growing company.

Functions

1. Preparation of customer invoices and customer billing functions
2. Perform required data imports into the accounting software
3. Provide support as a resource to Accounting Specialist I & II when troubleshooting work
4. May provide training or coaching on processes to Accounting Specialist I & II
5. Provide backup support to Accounting Specialist I & II and other team members as needed
6. Prepare and enter journal entries
7. Assist in coding of vendor invoices, purchase orders, and vendor invoice processing
8. Review financial data for completeness, accuracy, and compliance
9. Reconcile general ledger activity to customer billing
10. Conduct general ledger balance sheet reconciliations utilizing Blackline Accounting software
11. Coordinate accounting matters with other departments
12. Support Accountant II, Senior Accountants, and Accounting Managers with month-end closing functions and procedures as needed
13. Perform other duties as assigned
14. Maintain, monitor, and assist site personnel with the usage of financial systems; prepare and respond to corporate accounting inquiries
15. Communicate regularly with site personnel and customers
16. Coordinate the monthly close process for Stryker Network
17. Perform monthly analytics of site & general ledger information and processes, including budgets and forecast tools
18. Monitor and manage aspects of the general ledger
19. Act as site finance liaison by answering site financial questions and assisting with PO Log maintenance
20. Generate projections and forecast reports for Stryker Network

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
• 0-2 years of prior accounting experience working with general ledger and customer billing
• Experience with Microsoft applications including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Expertise in Excel
• Proficient in use of accounting systems, with Great Plains experience a plus
