Job Description

The General Ledger Accountant II is a mid-level accounting position responsible for month-end closing and financial statement preparation for multiple entities (Non-Profit Corporations) with a moderate level of complexity. This role supports a fast-paced centralized accounting services environment, providing financial services to community associations throughout North America. Candidates must meet Associa’s credit requirements.

Job Responsibilities
  • Perform month-end closing and prepare financial statements for multiple entities.
  • Process and review monthly bank and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Develop and enter accruals, amortizations, adjustments, and reclassifications.
  • Assist with budget development and administration.
  • Perform Year-End close procedures.
  • Support community Association Managers (CAM), Branch Financial Accounting Support Persons (FASP), and the Board of Directors (BOD) as needed.
  • Collaborate with departments such as Accounts Receivable (A/R), Accounts Payable (A/P), Data Management, Delinquency, Tax, and Banking teams to resolve issues.
  • Occasional weekend work may be required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • This position is eligible for telecommuting based on business needs and performance.
Requirements
Knowledge and Skills
  • Ability to interpret and apply industry-related laws.
  • Experience in general ledger accounting.
  • Understanding of A/P and A/R transaction processes.
  • Ability to manage multiple entities, meet deadlines, and ensure accuracy.
  • Experience in month-end closing and bank reconciliations.
  • Experience in budget development and implementation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Complete Control for Communities (C3) software is a plus.
  • Understanding of or experience in the Community Association Management Industry is preferred.
  • Experience in an Accounting Shared Services Center environment is preferred.
Education and Experience
  • Associate’s Degree in Accounting or equivalent work experience (4 years of progressive responsibility) with 2 years of full-cycle general ledger accounting, OR a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting with 1 year of full-cycle general ledger experience.
  • Knowledge of GAAP and AICPA guidelines.
