Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field required.
• 2–3 years of General Ledger experience and US Citizenship; DoD Security Clearance required.
• Proficiency with Office 365 and advanced Excel for financial analysis and reporting.
• Bonus: experience with UKG Payroll Systems and Deltek Costpoint; Government Contracting environment experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• General Ledger Management: post and review all GL entries, AP vouchers, AR billing, cash disbursements, and journal entries per accounting principles.
• Financial Reconciliation & Compliance: reconcile daily/monthly bank activity and GL accounts per GAAP and FAR.
• System Administration: administer Deltek Costpoint, UKG, SAP Concur, Corporate Banking, and Credit Card Accounts to ensure accuracy.
• Reporting & Tax Compliance: prepare borrowing base reports and assist with tax returns; address tax notices.
• Month-End & Year-End Oversight: manage month-end close and support year-end close activities to ensure accurate financial statements.

What You’ll Actually Do

• General Ledger Management: Recommend, review, and post all general ledger entries, AP vouchers, AR billing, cash disbursements, and journal entries, ensuring adherence to established accounting principles.
• Financial Reconciliation & Compliance: Identify, review, and meticulously reconcile daily/monthly bank activities, credit card statements using SAP Concur and JPMorgan Chase, and all General Ledger accounts in compliance with GAAP and FAR regulations.
• System Administration: Serve as the primary administrator for essential financial systems including Deltek Costpoint, UKG, SAP Concur, Corporate Banking, and Credit Card Accounts, ensuring data accuracy and operational efficiency.
• Reporting & Tax Compliance: Prepare the monthly borrowing base report, assist with various management and corporate tax returns, research relevant tax laws and regulations, and implement necessary changes into general accounting practices while responding to tax authority notices.
• Month-End & Year-End Oversight: Manage the comprehensive month-end closing process, provide clear direction and support to staff members, and actively assist with the critical end-of-year closing functions to ensure timely and accurate financial statements.

The Must-Haves

• Background: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field, or demonstrably equivalent job experience in accounting.
• Experience: 2-3 years of previous General Ledger experience. US Citizenship and eligibility for a DoD Security Clearance are mandatory requirements for this position.
• Skills: Proficiency with Office 365, with extensive skills using Excel Spreadsheets for financial analysis and reporting. Demonstrated ability to review and reconcile accounts compliant to GAAP and FAR regulations.
• Bonus: Direct experience with UKG Payroll Systems and Deltek Costpoint. Prior experience working specifically in a Government Contracting environment.
