Job summary

Grayson Carter and Son Contracting, Inc. is seeking a general laborer to support on construction sites in Alabama. You will load, unload, and stack materials, operate basic hand and power tools, and help prepare sites for work.

The role requires physical fitness, the ability to follow instructions, and a commitment to safety. OSHA knowledge and a pre-employment drug screen are preferred, with standard overtime and weekend work possible.

Qualifications

• 2+ years' experience as a general laborer.
• Must be physically able to stand, walk, sit, crouch, kneel, climb, and lift 75 pounds.
• Knowledge of OSHA Standards.
• Able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.

• Load, unload, and stack materials, equipment, and tools
• Use small and medium hand/power tools to complete various tasks
• Clean and prepare construction sites
• Dig trenches, compact earth, and backfill holes
• Following instructions from supervisors and implementing construction plans
• Keep the work area clean and free of debris, ensuring a safe and efficient working environment
• Provide support to skilled tradespeople, including carrying tools, holding materials, or assisting with specific tasks
• Maintain a high level of quality work at all times
• Maintain good relationships with Technicians, Foreman, Superintendents, Inspectors, Developers, and other co-workers at all times
• Follow all safety rules and regulations while performing work tasks
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Represent and promote Grayson Carter and Son in a professional and honest manner

Job Qualifications/Requirements:

• 2+ years' experience as a general laborer
• Ability to communicate and convey information effectively
• Must be physically able to stand, walk, sit, crouch, kneel, climb, and periodically lift 75 pounds
• Knowledge of OSHA Standards
• Ability to obtain Arsenal Badge and FBI Badge preferred, but not required
• Dependable transportation
• Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) on all job sites as required
• Work weekends and overtime as neededCommitted to attending work each day
• Able to pass a pre-employment drug screen
