Job summary

Grayson Carter and Son Contracting, Inc. is seeking a Site Equipment Operator II to operate heavy-site machinery on our field projects in Alabama. You will load, move, and place materials, perform daily inspections, and support a clean, safe work environment on site.

Applicants should be able to lift up to 75 pounds, follow OSHA standards, and pass a pre-employment drug screen. Some roles require weekend overtime to meet project deadlines; reliable transportation is required.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate effectively and convey information.
• Must be physically able to stand, walk, sit, crouch, kneel, climb, and periodically lift up to 75 pounds.
• Knowledge of OSHA Standards.
• Ability to obtain Arsenal and FBI Badge preferred, but not required.
• Requires personal transportation to job sites.
• Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) on all job sites as required.
• Work weekends and overtime as needed.
• Committed to attending work each day.
• Able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment such as mini excavator, skid steer, scraper tractor and related tasks.
• Ensure work is completed to standards and plans.
• Load and offload rocks, debris and materials.
• Maneuver heavy equipment for accurate removal and placement of materials.
• Perform manual labor on the ground as needed.
• Complete daily equipment inspections and report issues.
• Maintain high quality work and relationships with team.
• Keep site clean and organized at end of shift.
• Follow safety rules and regulations.
• Represent Grayson Carter and Son in a professional manner.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Title: Site Equipment Operator II

Department: Field Operations

Essential Job Functions:

• Operate various equipment such as:
  • Mini Excavator
  • Skid Steer
  • Scraper Tractor and Pan(s)*
  • *GPS experience is a plus
• Ensure all work is completed according to required standards and plans
• Load and offload rocks, debris and other materials from heavy equipment
• Maneuver motorized heavy equipment to ensure the accurate removal and placement of materials
• Willing to work on the ground and perform manual labor to complete tasks as needed
• Complete daily equipment inspections and report any issues immediately
• Maintain a high level of quality work at all times
• Maintain good relationships with Technicians, Foreman, Superintendents, Inspectors, Developers, and other co-workers at all times
• Aid coworkers to ensure that the site is clean and organized at the end of each shift
• Follow all safety rules and regulations while performing work tasks
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Represent and promote Grayson Carter and Son in a professional and honest manner
