Job summary

Eddie Kane Steel Products is seeking a full-time General Laborer to perform a range of material handling and basic production tasks. You will move materials, operate tools and machinery, and assist with quality checks and documentation in a steel production environment.

The role involves an evening shift (2:00pm-10:30pm) with pay between $20.00 and $25.00 per hour, and strict safety protocols including PPE and temperature checks. No relocation or agency involvement requested.

Qualifications

• Basic mechanical aptitude required.
• Basic reading and mathematical skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide).
• Dexterity and balance required.

Responsibilities

• Move raw material, work in process, and finished goods into and between work centers.
• Operate hand and power tools to clean finished materials and complete minor repairs.
• Operate other machinery to perform secondary operations such as drilling, punching, bending, grinding, torch cutting, shearing, flattening, etc.
• Move finished material onto skids for final packaging.
• Maintain pace with equipment to prevent delays.
• Use basic measuring tools to maintain quality standards.
• Maintain neat and accurate written production documentation.
• Read and interpret job requirements; communicate with foreman for clarity.
• Communicate all pertinent job information to foreman daily.
• Report problems or quality concerns to supervisor immediately.
• Other related duties as assigned.

General Description: Responsible for providing the physical labor required to complete customer orders in an efficient and safe manner by performing the following duties.

Hours are Monday thru Friday 2:00pm-10:30pm

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Move raw material, work in process, and finished goods into and between work centers.
• Operate hand and power tools to clean finished materials and to complete minor repairs.
• Operate other machinery to complete secondary operations such as drilling, punching, bending, grinding, torch cutting, shearing, flattening, etc.
• Move finished material onto skids for final packaging.
• Maintain pace with equipment operators to ensure material flows smoothly into and out of individual work centers and prevent back up or delays.
• Use basic measuring tools to maintain quality standards on each order.
• Maintain neat and accurate written production documentation as required.
• Read, interpret, and understand the job requirements of each customer order. Communicate with foreman to ensure a complete understanding of all information.
• Communicate all pertinent job related information to foreman on a daily basis.
• Report any problems or quality concerns to supervisor immediately.
• Other related duties as assigned.
