Role Summary

The General Laborer 2 role will be responsible for assisting other skilled trades working on a variety of construction projects including new construction, renovations, and other project types. General laborers utilize a variety of tools and specialized equipment. Duties may include site cleanup, loading, unloading, handling and distributing materials, fixtures, running a buck hoist, traffic control, and other tasks as assigned. Responsibilities vary depending on project type and phase. All activities support the strategy, vision, and values of JE Dunn.

Key Role Responsibilities - Core

• Assists skilled trades by loading, unloading, and distributing materials.
• Assists in dismantling and transporting construction materials.
• Collects and disposes of trash daily on and around the jobsite.
• Performs general cleaning and trash removal for the jobsite trailer.
• Cleans and maintains concrete and forming tools.
• Operates pumps and equipment for site dewatering.
• Organizes and cleans conex containers and gang boxes daily.
• Responsible for construction gate duty and flagging responsibilities.
• Ensures proper material identification and MSDS usage.
• Operates buck hoist safely and effectively.
• Assists with demolition operations.
• Complies with PPE and OSHA standards.
• Adheres to safety standards and behavioral expectations such as punctuality, respect, safety, and a positive attitude.

Key Role Responsibilities - Additional Core

In addition, this position will:

• Lead by example and assist in duty assignments.
• Verify deliveries and manage tools at the end of shifts.
• Perform basic maintenance on equipment.
• Handle and transport materials properly.
• Perform demolition tasks as directed.

Education

• High School Diploma or GED (preferred).

• 2+ years in commercial construction (preferred).

• Ability to lift at least 50 pounds.
• Exposure to extreme conditions and willingness to work non-traditional hours.
• Reliable transportation required.
• Comfort working at heights, in trenches, and narrow spaces.
• Activities include standing, walking, climbing, bending, and other physical tasks.
