Job summary

Garelick Farms, Dairy Farmers of America is seeking a General Laborer for 1st shift (Mon-Fri 7:00 AM–3:30 PM) with a starting rate of $18.75 per hour and a $1,500 sign-on bonus for external candidates. Duties include loading, packaging, and maintaining GMP compliance in a production environment.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent and prefer warehouse or general work experience. English reading/writing skills required. We offer excellent benefits and growth opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Assist operators as necessary.
• Load and unload materials, ingredients, parts, products, cases, crates, and pallets.
• Move, stack, or place items on conveyor manually or by mechanized means.
• Deliver production or area specific items to designated work areas for processing.
• Pack products in crates or boxes by hand.
• Sort, bundle, and fill containers or place in assembled units.
• Mark or label product loads for identification.
• Maintain general housekeeping of the assigned area.
• Complete required paperwork accurately and legibly.
• Report quality or operational issues to supervisor.
• Maintain safe working conditions and comply with health, safety regulations.
• Follow GMP and all regulatory, food safety, quality, sanitation practices

1st Shift: Mondays thru Fridays Mon-Fri 7AM to 3:30PM

Rate: $18.75

GENERAL PURPOSE

Perform a variety of general duties of a basic, repetitive, and/or manual nature that are relevant to the work area(s) being supported.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist operators as necessary
• Load and/or unload materials, ingredients, parts, products, cases, crates, and pallets
• Move, stack, or place items on conveyor manually or by mechanized means
• Deliver production or area specific items to designated work areas for processing
• Pack products in crates or boxes by hand
• Sort, bundle, and fill containers or place in assembled units
• Mark or put identifying labels on product loads
• Maintain general housekeeping of the assigned area
• Complete all required paperwork accurately and legibly
• Report quality and operational issues or irregularities to supervisor as they occur
• Maintain safe working conditions for employees and compliance with all state and federal regulations regarding health and safety issues
• Follow all DFA good manufacturing practices (GMP) and work in a manner consistent with all corporate regulatory, food safety, quality, and sanitation requirements

Requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Warehouse, production, or general work experience preferred

Certification and/or License - may be required during course of employment

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Able to follow directions and carry out instructions

Able to effectively work in a team environment

Able to legibly write entries for record keeping

Able to work in a fast-paced environment

Able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals

Must be able to read, write and speak English
