Job summary

Garelick Farms, part of Dairy Farmers of America, is hiring a General Laborer for 1st shift. The role involves a variety of general duties in a fast-paced production environment, with a Monday–Friday schedule from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.

The position offers competitive pay and excellent growth opportunities, plus a $1,500 sign-on bonus for external candidates. Required is a high school diploma (preferred) and the ability to follow directions, work as part of a team, and maintain safety and quality

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Warehouse, production, or general work experience preferred.
• Certification and/or License may be required during course of employment.

Responsibilities

• Assist operators as necessary
• Load and unload materials, ingredients, parts, products, cases, crates, and pallets
• Move, stack, or place items on conveyor manually or by mechanized means
• Deliver production or area specific items to designated work areas for processing
• Pack products in crates or boxes by hand
• Sort, bundle, and fill containers or place in assembled units
• Mark or put identifying labels on product loads
• Construct or de-construct shipping boxes
• Maintain general housekeeping of the assigned area
• Complete all required paperwork accurately and legibly
• Report quality and operational issues or irregularities to supervisor as they occur
• Maintain safe working conditions for employees and compliance with all state and federal regulations regarding health and safety issues
• Follow all DFA good manufacturing practices (GMP) and work in a manner consistent with all corporate regulatory, food safety, quality, and sanitation requirements

1st Shift: Mondays thru Fridays Mon-Fri 7AM to 3:30PM

Rate: $18.75

GENERAL PURPOSE

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Warehouse, production, or general work experience preferred

Certification and/or License - may be required during course of employment

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

• Able to follow directions and carry out instructions
• Able to effectively work in a team environment
• Able to legibly write entries for record keeping
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment
• Able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
• Must be able to read, write and speak English
