Position: General Laborer

Pay: $15.50/hr

Shifts: 1st shift (6:50am - 3:30pm) and 2nd Shift (3:15pm - 12:00am) available

The Lee Group is looking for General Laborers to work at one of our valued clients in Newport News, VA. General laborers are an essential part of the production process, working on the line to produce high-quality food products that meet the company’s stringent standards. Some responsibilities of General Laborers will include handling and processing frozen food products, ensuring that production runs smoothly, and maintaining a clean and safe environment. If you are someone who is detail-oriented, can work efficiently in a fast-paced setting, and is comfortable with physical tasks, we encourage you to apply!

Job Responsibilities of General Laborers:

• Open boxes of frozen fish and place them on the production line.
• Separate frozen fish portions and evenly distribute them across a conveyor belt. Remove any portions that are the incorrect size or shape.
• Package fish into plastic bags and boxes. Use sealing equipment to secure the boxes.
• Assemble boxes on the assembly line.
• Monitor the quality, size, and shape of fish portions as assigned.
• Maintain cleanliness by sweeping the floor, cleaning the work area, and disposing of refuse.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications of General Laborers:

• Ability to follow instructions accurately.
• Ability to regularly lift 50 - 66 lbs.
• Adaptability to changing work environments and tasks.
• Ability to work precisely, consistently, and quickly.
• Must not have a seafood allergy.
• Willingness to work overtime when required.
