Job summary

Air Comfort, Inc. is seeking a General Laborer to support the weld and fabrication shop.

You will assist with material preparation, finishing, and movement, plus shipping/receiving, sandblasting, painting, and saw cutting, contributing to safety, quality, and production efficiency. Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, reliability, ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and the willingness to work a fixed Friday–Sunday 11-hour schedule with a weekly Shift 2 incentive.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Prior experience in fabrication or industrial environment preferred.
• Forklift and overhead crane experience a plus (training provided).

Responsibilities

• Assist with shipping and receiving activities, including loading and unloading trucks, verifying materials, and organizing inventory.
• Support sandblasting operations by preparing surfaces and maintaining equipment cleanliness and functionality.
• Assist in painting and finishing operations; mix paint, prep surfaces, and ensure quality and uniformity of coatings.
• Operate cutting and material-handling equipment such as saws, grinders, pallet jacks, and overhead cranes (after training).
• Perform general shop cleanup, scrap removal, and housekeeping duties to maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
• Stage and deliver parts or materials to workstations as directed by supervisors or leads.
• Follow all company safety procedures, PPE requirements, and 5S standards.
• Assist welders, fabricators, and production teams with setup and material handling as assigned.
• Report maintenance or quality concerns immediately to supervision.
• Participate in team meetings and continuous improvement activities.

Role and Responsibilities

The General Laborer supports the overall production flow within the weld and fabrication facility by assisting with material preparation, finishing, and movement throughout the shop. This position plays a key role in maintaining safety, quality, and production efficiency by performing essential support functions including shipping, receiving, sandblasting, painting, and saw cutting.

Education and Experience

• Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds independently.
• Tolerant of shop conditions such as noise, dust, and temperature fluctuations.

Work Schedule Requirements

• Schedule: Friday through Sunday, 11-hour shifts each day.
• Shift Incentive: Eligible employees receive a weekly Shift 2 incentive equivalent to 7 hours of regular pay.
• Attendance: Employees must report to work on time and complete all scheduled hours.
• Schedule Flexibility: Workdays and shift hours are fixed and are not flexible.
