Job summary

Ferrara is seeking an overnight Candy Coating Operator in Bellwood, IL. Shift runs 4pm–4:30am with two nights on, two nights off, and every other weekend (Sat, Sun, Mon) off. You will coat candy after deposition and curing before packaging and perform related duties as needed.

Responsibilities include reviewing materials, setting up and washing down equipment, maintaining quality, and keeping a clean, safe work area. Overtime and varied start/end times may apply based on business needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Basic problem solving skills.
• Ability to pass certification test on pallet jack and forklift.
• Ability to stand or walk for prolonged periods and lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Review material paperwork and job orders to ensure the correct materials are used.
• Set up and wash down equipment including conveyors, tumblers, laser cleaners, steam tables, weigh belts, vision, and other equipment as area expands.
• Maintain materials and equipment during runs and ensure proper settings, quality and quantity.
• Quality checks and reporting.
• Identify opportunities to reduce scrap.
• Maintain an organized, clean work area.

Job description

Work Location: Bellwood

Position requires the ability to work overtime. As a result, it may require working varying start times, end times, and weekends dependent on business needs.

This is an overnight shift position, hours are 4pm-4:30am. Two nights on, two nights off, every other weekend (Saturday, Sunday, and Monday) off.

• Setup and wash down of equipment i.e. Changeovers of conveyors, tumblers, Laser Cleaners, Steam Tables, weigh belts, vision, and other equipment as area expands
• Proper maintenance of materials and equipment while running orders i.e. proper equipment settings, quality and quantity of sanding materials
• Quality checks and reporting
• Reviews and identifies opportunities to reduce scrap
• Maintaining organized, clean work area

Compensation

$22.50 per hour plus a $.75 per hour shift differential.
