Job summary

Ferrara is seeking a manufacturing associate in Bellwood to coat candy after deposition and cure, and perform general duties as needed. The role requires operating and cleaning equipment, following material specs, and maintaining quality throughout production.

You will review paperwork, run line changes, and perform quality checks while supporting a safe, organized work area. Overtime and varied hours are required, with a 4am-4:30pm day shift and rotating weekends.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent experience.
• Basic problem solving skills are required.
• Ability to pass certification test on pallet jack and forklift.
• Able to walk or stand for prolonged periods; able to bend, stoop, reach and lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Reviews material paperwork and job orders to ensure correct materials are used.
• Setup and wash down of equipment (conveyors, tumblers, Laser Cleaners, Steam Tables, weigh belts, vision systems).
• Maintain materials and equipment during runs; ensure proper equipment settings and material quality.
• Conduct quality checks and report findings.
• Identify opportunities to reduce scrap and waste.
• Maintain an organized, clean work area.

Work Location: Bellwood

Position requires the ability to work overtime. As a result, it may require working varying start times, end times, and weekends dependent on business needs.

This is a day shift position, hours are 4am-4:30pm. Two days on, two days off, every other weekend (Saturday, Sunday, and Monday) off.

• Reviews material paperwork and job orders to ensure the correct materials are being used
• Setup and wash down of equipment i.e. Changeovers of conveyors, tumblers, Laser Cleaners, Steam Tables, weigh belts, vision, and other equipment as area expands
• Proper maintenance of materials and equipment while running orders i.e. proper equipment settings, quality and quantity of sanding materials
• Quality checks and reporting
• Reviews and identifies opportunities to reduce scrap
• Maintaining organized, clean work area

Skills that will make you successful

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Basic problem solving skills
• Ability to pass certification test on pallet jack and fork lift
• Ability to walk or stand for prolonged periods; ability to bend, stoop, reach and lift up to 50 pounds

Compensation

$22.50 per hour
