Job summary

Ferrara's Bellwood facility is seeking a 2nd shift operator to support coating and packaging processes. The role runs 11:45am–8:15pm, Monday–Friday, with overtime and variable start/end times as needed.

You will review material paperwork, set up and wash down equipment, perform quality checks, and maintain a clean, safe work area while supporting continuous improvement efforts. Eligible benefits include health/dental insurance, 401(k), and PTO.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Ability to pass pallet jack and forklift certification tests.
• Ability to stand/walk for prolonged periods and lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Review material paperwork and job orders to ensure correct materials.
• Setup and wash down of equipment (conveyors, tumblers, Laser Cleaners, Steam Tables, weigh belts, vision).
• Maintain materials and equipment while running orders; set proper equipment settings and ensure quality/material use.
• Quality checks and reporting
• Identify opportunities to reduce scrap
• Maintain organized, clean work area

Position requires the ability to work overtime. As a result, it may require working varying start times, end times, and weekends dependent on business needs.

This is a 2nd shift position - hours are 11:45am to 8:15pm, Monday through Friday.

The position is responsible for coating the candy after it is deposited and cured, prior to packaging, and other general duties as needed.

• Reviews material paperwork and job orders to ensure the correct materials are being used
• Setup and wash down of equipment i.e. Changeovers of conveyors, tumblers, Laser Cleaners, Steam Tables, weigh belts, vision, and other equipment as area expands
• Proper maintenance of materials and equipment while running orders i.e. proper equipment settings, quality and quantity of sanding materials
• Quality checks and reporting
• Reviews and identifies opportunities to reduce scrap
• Maintaining organized, clean work area

Skills that will make you successful

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Basic problem solving skills
• Ability to pass certification test on pallet jack and fork lift
• Ability to walk or stand for prolonged periods; ability to bend, stoop, reach and lift up to 50 pounds

Compensation

$22.50 per hour plus a .75 cent per hour shift differential.
