Job summary

UFP Industries, Inc. is seeking General Labor for our Minnesota facility to safely handle lumber products and verify materials meet customer requirements. You will move, stack, label, and secure materials, maintaining accurate production records and supporting other areas as needed.

The role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and adherence to company policies, with a starting hourly wage of $21 and opportunities within a growing manufacturing environment in Waseca, MN.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma/GED preferred but not required.
  • No minimum experience required, but manufacturing or lumber experience is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of basic math preferred.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

  • Move and secure lumber products and materials according to instructions.
  • Stack finished products according to predetermined bundle sizes and customer requirements.
  • Label material by type, size, and count; apply tags before/after treating/production.
  • Band, bundle and secure material and attach corner protectors and loading sticks.
  • Maintain accurate inventory of tags and report discrepancies to supervisor.
  • Record production on production sheets and keep work area clean and organized.
  • Assist with other areas by moving material and loading/unloading carts.
  • Participate in safety and other programs and meetings.

Verifies material meets customer requirements and company expectations.Principle Duties and ResponsibilitiesMoves and secures lumber products and other materials according to instructionsStacks finished products according to predetermined bundle sizes and/or customer requirementsLabels material based on the following specifications: type, size, and countApplies individual tags to material before/after treating/productionUses a staple gun and troubleshoots equipmentBands, bundles and secures material, including attaching corner protectors and loading sticksFollows instructions for stacking material properly and according to company policy and customer requirementsEnsures correct quantities and material are strapped, and labeled before leaving the work areaMaintains accurate inventory of tags and reports any problems or discrepancies to supervisorRecords production on production sheetsMaintains a clean and organized work areaAssists with other work areas by moving material, loading and unloading material cartsParticipates in safety, CI and other programs and meetingsPerforms other duties as requiredQualificationsHigh school diploma/GED preferred but not requiredNo minimum experience is required, but manufacturing or lumber experience is preferredWorking knowledge of basic math preferredMust be at least 18 years of ageClick here to watch what a day in the life of a General Labor role looks like.Hourly/Salary Pay Range: $21 per hour*pay range may be adjusted depending on cost of livingBonus/Incentive Pay (appropriate item below would be inserted based on the job):1.
