Job summary

UFP Industries, Inc. seeks a General Labor teammate to safely handle lumber products and verify material meets customer and company specs. You will move, label, stack, and secure materials, maintain tagging inventory, and support cleanup and safety initiatives on the shop floor.

Successful candidates are 18+, may have basic math skills, and have a willingness to work in a manufacturing environment. High school diploma or GED is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Basic math knowledge is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Move and secure lumber products and other materials according to instructions.
  • Label material by type, size and count and affix tags before/after treating/production.
  • Stack finished products to predetermined bundle sizes or customer requirements.
  • Maintain accurate inventory of tags and report discrepancies to supervisor.
  • Keep work area clean and organized and assist other areas as needed.
  • Participate in safety and other company programs and meetings.

Job SummaryGeneral labor is responsible for safely handling lumber products. Verifies material meets customer requirements and company expectations.Principle Duties and ResponsibilitiesMoves and secures lumber products and other materials according to instructionsStacks finished products according to predetermined bundle sizes and/or customer requirementsLabels material based on the following specifications: type, size, and countApplies individual tags to material before/after treating/productionUses a staple gun and troubleshoots equipmentBands, bundles and secures material, including attaching corner protectors and loading sticksFollows instructions for stacking material properly and according to company policy and customer requirementsEnsures correct quantities and material are strapped, and labeled before leaving the work areaMaintains accurate inventory of tags and reports any problems or discrepancies to supervisorRecords production on production sheetsMaintains a clean and organized work areaAssists with other work areas by moving material, loading and unloading material cartsParticipates in safety, CI and other programs and meetingsPerforms other duties as requiredQualificationsHigh school diploma/GED preferred but not requiredNo minimum experience is required, but manufacturing or lumber experience is preferredWorking knowledge of basic math preferredMust be at least 18 years of ageClick here to watch what a day in the life of a General Labor role looks like.The Company is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
