Job summary

UFP Industries, Inc. is seeking a General Labor team member to safely handle lumber products and verify materials meet customer and company specifications. You will move, stack, label, and secure materials, apply tags, and assist with loading and unloading while maintaining an organized work area.

The role emphasizes accuracy, basic math, teamwork, and adherence to safety programs. Prior manufacturing or lumber experience is preferred, but not required, with opportunities to participate in CI

Qualifications

  • Basic math and counting skills used daily.
  • Ability to follow instructions and maintain accuracy.

Responsibilities

  • Move and secure lumber and materials according to instructions.
  • Stack finished products by prescribed bundle sizes.
  • Label material by type, size and count.
  • Apply tags and band/secure material for transportation.
  • Maintain clean, organized work area and report discrepancies.
  • Assist with loading/unloading and site housekeeping.

Job SummaryGeneral labor is responsible for safely handling lumber products. Verifies material meets customer requirements and company expectations.Principle Duties and ResponsibilitiesMoves and secures lumber products and other materials according to instructionsStacks finished products according to predetermined bundle sizes and/or customer requirementsLabels material based on the following specifications: type, size, and countApplies individual tags to material before/after treating/productionUses a staple gun and troubleshoots equipmentBands, bundles and secures material, including attaching corner protectors and loading sticksFollows instructions for stacking material properly and according to company policy and customer requirementsEnsures correct quantities and material are strapped, and labeled before leaving the work areaMaintains accurate inventory of tags and reports any problems or discrepancies to supervisorRecords production on production sheetsMaintains a clean and organized work areaAssists with other work areas by moving material, loading and unloading material cartsParticipates in safety, CI and other programs and meetingsPerforms other duties as requiredQualificationsHigh school diploma/GED preferred but not requiredNo minimum experience is required, but manufacturing or lumber experience is preferredWorking knowledge of basic math preferredMust be at least 18 years of ageClick here to watch what a day in the life of a General Labor role looks like.The Company is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
