Job summary

UFP Industries, Inc. is seeking a General Labor associate to safely handle lumber products and verify materials meet customer specifications. You will move, stack, label, and tag lumber, maintain inventory, and support production records in a fast-paced facility in Hillsboro, TX.

Full-time position with focus on safety and efficiency; previous manufacturing or lumber experience is preferred though not required. Applicant must be 18 years or older and willing to participate in safety programs.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
  • No minimum experience required; manufacturing or lumber experience preferred.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

  • Move and secure lumber products according to instructions.
  • Stack finished products according to bundle sizes and customer requirements.
  • Label material by type, size, and count; apply tags before/after treating/production.
  • Maintain inventory of tags and report discrepancies to supervisor.
  • Record production on production sheets; keep work area clean and organized.

Job SummaryGeneral labor is responsible for safely handling lumber products. Verifies material meets customer requirements and company expectations.Principle Duties and ResponsibilitiesMoves and secures lumber products and other materials according to instructionsStacks finished products according to predetermined bundle sizes and/or customer requirementsLabels material based on the following specifications: type, size, and countApplies individual tags to material before/after treating/productionUses a staple gun and troubleshoots equipmentBands, bundles and secures material, including attaching corner protectors and loading sticksFollows instructions for stacking material properly and according to company policy and customer requirementsEnsures correct quantities and material are strapped, and labeled before leaving the work areaMaintains accurate inventory of tags and reports any problems or discrepancies to supervisorRecords production on production sheetsMaintains a clean and organized work areaAssists with other work areas by moving material, loading and unloading material cartsParticipates in safety, CI and other programs and meetingsPerforms other duties as requiredQualificationsHigh school diploma/GED preferred but not requiredNo minimum experience is required, but manufacturing or lumber experience is preferredWorking knowledge of basic math preferredMust be at least 18 years of ageClick here to watch what a day in the life of a General Labor role looks like.The Company is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
