Job summary

UFP Site Built Locust, NC is seeking a General Labor to safely handle lumber products and verify materials meet customer requirements. You will move and secure lumber, stack according to bundle sizes, and label by type, size, and count.

Use a staple gun, band and secure material, and maintain accurate inventory while keeping the work area clean. No formal experience required, but manufacturing or lumber experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED preferred but not required.
• No minimum experience is required, but manufacturing or lumber experience is preferred.
• Working knowledge of basic math preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Move and secure lumber products according to instructions.
• Stack finished products according to predetermined bundle sizes and/or customer requirements.
• Label material based on type, size, and count.
• Apply individual tags to material before/after treating/production.
• Use a staple gun and troubleshoot equipment.
• Band, bundle and secure material, including attaching corner protectors and loading sticks.
• Follow stacking procedures per policy and customer requirements.
• Ensure correct quantities and material are strapped, and labeled before leaving the work area.
• Maintain accurate inventory of tags and report discrepancies to supervisor.
• Record production on production sheets.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Assist with other areas by moving material, loading and unloading material carts.
• Participate in safety, CI and other programs and meetings.
• Perform other duties as required.
