Job summary

UFP Industries, Inc. is seeking a General Labor associate in Fredericksburg, VA to safely handle lumber products and verify material meets customer requirements.

You will move and secure lumber, label, tag, band, and stack materials, maintain inventory records, and keep the workspace clean while following safety and production procedures.

No heavy experience required, but basic math skills and reliability are valued; must be 18+ and able to work full-time in a manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma/GED preferred but not required.
  • No minimum experience is required, but manufacturing or lumber experience is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of basic math preferred.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

  • Moves and secures lumber products and other materials according to instructions.
  • Stacks finished products according to predetermined bundle sizes and/or customer requirements.
  • Labels material based on specifications: type, size, and count.
  • Applies tags to material before/after treating/production.
  • Uses a staple gun and troubleshoots equipment.
  • Bands, bundles and secures material, including corner protectors and loading sticks.
  • Follows stacking instructions per policy and customer requirements.
  • Maintains accurate inventory of tags and reports problems to supervisor.
  • Records production on production sheets.
  • Maintains a clean and organized work area.
  • Assists with other areas by moving material and loading/unloading carts.
  • Participates in safety, CI and other programs and meetings.
  • Performs other duties as required.
