Job summary

Fort Loudoun Medical Center, part of Covenant Health, in Lenoir City, TN, seeks a Medical Technologist for general laboratory duties in a PRN/OCC Day Shift role. The MT performs routine and specialized tests to aid diagnosis and treatment, using judgment from education to assist physicians.

Responsibilities include interpreting tests, preparing media, analyzing samples, maintaining records, performing quality control, and supporting safety and quality initiatives within a diverse patient

Qualifications

• Must have Tennessee State medical technologist licensure; ASCP preferred.
• Six months experience in a clinical laboratory.

Responsibilities

• Reads and interprets tests and performs appropriate testing.
• Prepares sterile media for growth of bacterial cultures; reads cultures.
• Analyzes blood, body fluids and parasites.
• Maintains required records, reports and statistics as directed.
• Performs quality control and media processing.
• Educates others as necessary.
• Performs equipment maintenance as needed.
• Demonstrates competency in scope of care across age groups and diagnostic categories.
• Follows policies, procedures, and safety standards; completes education assignments annually; supports quality improvement initiatives.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
