Job summary

Covenant Health seeks a Medical Technologist to join Fort Sanders Regional’s clinical laboratory. This full-time night-shift position performs high-complexity tests, follows strict specimen handling and reporting procedures, and participates in quality control and proficiency testing.

The MT will consult with physicians on test results and maintain accurate records, supporting patient care within a leading regional health system known for clinical excellence and staff development.

Qualifications

• Current Tennessee State License as a Medical Technologist.
• Must pass color blindness test.

Responsibilities

• Perform high complexity tests as appropriate for testing department and shift.
• Follow the Laboratory’s procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analysis, reporting and maintaining records of patient results.
• Document all corrective actions taken when the test process deviates from specifications.
• Perform proficiency testing samples and maintain records that demonstrate proper testing of samples.
• Adhere to quality control policies; document control activities, calibrations and maintenance.
