Job summary

Covenant Health's Claiborne Medical Center in Tennessee is seeking a Medical Technologist for the General Laboratory. This full-time, night-shift position performs high-complexity and routine tests to support diagnosis and treatment.

The MT will use independent judgment, review results with physicians as needed, and maintain quality control, instrument maintenance, and accurate records. Experience is preferred but not required; Tennessee licensure is required.

Qualifications

• Six (6) months experience is desired, but not required.
• Current Tennessee State License as a Medical Technologist.
• Certification by ASCP or NCA is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform high complexity tests as appropriate for testing department and shift.
• Follow Laboratory procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analysis, and reporting.
• Document corrective actions when test processes deviate from specifications.
• Perform proficiency testing samples and maintain records accordingly.
• Maintain quality control and calibration records and notify supervisors of out-of-control conditions.
