Job summary

Ascension Saint Thomas Heart in Manchester, TN is seeking a Cardiology physician to join an established team of physicians and APPs in a full-time employed role within a nonprofit health system.

The role requires MD/DO, Tennessee license, and board certification or eligibility in Cardiology; you will deliver high-quality patient care and collaborate across specialty teams in a mission-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Cardiology.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat patients with appropriate medical diagnostic and treatment skills.
• Coordinate discharge planning with case management.
• Accept patient referrals and act as admitting/consulting physician as needed.
• Participate in academic programs (education/research) as requested.
• Provide documentation meeting insurance requirements and appeal denials as needed.
• Participate in inpatient/outpatient consultation for specialty, including on-call schedules.

About The Facility

• Established practice featuring a long-standing providers, and access to rotating heart failure and electrophysiology specialists.
• Serving a population of Middle TN, Northern AL, MS, KY

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat patients with appropriate medical diagnostic and treatment skills. Coordinate discharge planning with case management.
• Recommend, participates in, and work to ensure the success of efforts to improve cost effectiveness and quality of care provided to patients.
• Accept patient referrals from other physicians. Act as admitting, attending and/or consulting physician for patients who require hospitalization for primary medical diagnoses, depending on needs of patients, medical staff and hospital.
• Participate in academic programs (eg medical education and research) as requested.
• Provide appropriate documentation that meets insurance company requirements; appeal all denials in a timely manner.
• Participate in inpatient and outpatient consultation for specialty, which may include on call schedules.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• Physician MD/DO credentialed from the Tennessee Board of Medical Examiners obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) required.
