Job summary

Elgin Community College is seeking part-time adjunct teaching faculty to deliver instruction aligned with the college's goals and evaluate student progress toward educational objectives. The rate per contact hour depends on education level, with compensation aligned to the college's CBA.

Applicants must hold a master's degree in the discipline or a related field with at least 18 graduate hours in the discipline.

Rate of Pay:

This is a Part-Time Adjunct Faculty position with the following pay rate per contact hour:

Less than MA: $1,098 MA or Above: $1,140

The offer will be based on education and experience, in alignment with the College’s compensation philosophy and the current Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), if applicable.

Essential Duties:

Deliver Instruction
1. Conduct assigned classes and/or labs
2. Prepare lessons
3. Provide course syllabus (which shall include grading standards, attendance policies, classroom behavioral expectations, course outline and contact information)
4. Verify student enrollment and submit grade sheets
Evaluate Student Progress
1. Keep accurate record of student performance
2. Provide students with timely feedback
Provide Student Assistance
1. Refer students to student support services
2. Accommodate special needs students
