Job summary

AAMCO Transmissions, Inc. is seeking a seasoned Automotive/R&R Technician to inspect, diagnose, and repair vehicle systems at our Norfolk service center. The role includes removing and reinstalling transmission systems and assisting teammates with complex repairs.

Applicants should have 3+ years of general automotive experience, own professional tools, and a strong safety mindset. AAMCO offers extensive training and a supportive hotline for troubleshooting challenges.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years’ experience as a General Automotive/R&R Technician.
• Experience with valve body and solenoids is a plus.
• Own professional grade tools to service any general repair need.
• Safe working knowledge of shop tools and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose and repair vehicle automotive systems.
• Remove and Reinstall Transmission systems.
• Assist other technicians in performing technical activities.
• Explain problems discovered during vehicle inspection to service writers and technicians.
• Continuously learn new technical information, equipment, tools and repair techniques.
• Professionally record findings so that repairs costs are accurately estimated.
• Ability to perform misfire, evap, brakes, etc.
