Job summary

General Motors Company is seeking an Area Manager for the GAIC Vehicle plant in Warren, MI. You will lead the General Assembly organization, drive performance, expand capability and shape the culture of a highly skilled, technical team supporting GM Engineering and Manufacturing.

You will oversee strategic operational planning, safety policies, and financial performance, while coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure safety, quality and on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in manufacturing operations.
• 3+ years of experience leading salaried organizations.
• Strong organizational, communication, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Solid technical background across GA manufacturing processes (Torque, Assembly, Quality, Repair).
• Experience leading in a unionized environment with negotiation and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the General Assembly operations at the Warren, MI site and drive performance.
• Develop and maintain a safety-first culture across GA.
• Oversee strategic operational planning and day-to-day operations with safety, quality, schedule, cost and people priorities in mind.
• Shape business strategies to strengthen traditional workstreams and grow non-traditional capabilities.
• Manage GA budgets, contracts and cost-optimization initiatives.
