Job summary

Chubby Cattle International is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable professional to join our Finance team in Los Angeles. You will manage AP for multiple entities, coordinate with vendors, and support month-end close and restaurant finance operations.

Ideal candidates have 3–4 years in AP and general accounting, strong Excel skills, and experience with restaurant systems to optimize inventory and payments across 50+ locations.

Qualifications

• 3-4 years of experience in accounts payable and general accounting.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, or equivalent experience.
• Solid understanding of accrual accounting, the month-end close, and account reconciliations.
• Experience processing high invoice volumes accurately and on deadline.
• Strong Excel skills (VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, pivot tables, SUMIFS).
• Clear written and verbal communication with vendors and managers.

Responsibilities

• Process vendor invoices, credit memos, and expense reports for multiple entities with correct coding.
• Match invoices to PO and receiving records; resolve discrepancies with vendors/managers.
• Prepare weekly payment runs (ACH, check, wire) and route for approval.
• Set up and maintain vendor master data with controls against duplicates.
• Reconcile vendor statements, manage AP aging, and respond to inquiries.
• Prepare and file year-end 1099s.

Chubby Cattle International is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable to join our growing Finance team in Los Angeles.

As our restaurant group continues to expand across the U.S., this position will support accounts payable, inventory management, month-end close, restaurant finance operations, and financial systems across 50+ locations.

We are especially interested in candidates who have experience with Craftable, Restaurant365 (R365), MarginEdge, MarketMan, or other restaurant inventory/AP management systems.

Key responsibilities

• Process vendor invoices, credit memos, and expense reports for multiple entities, with correct coding to GL accounts, locations, and departments.
• Match invoices to purchase orders and receiving records; resolve price and quantity discrepancies with vendors and restaurant managers.
• Prepare weekly payment runs (ACH, check, wire) and route them for approval.
• Set up and maintain vendor master data, including W-9s, payment terms, and banking details, with controls against duplicate or fraudulent vendors.
• Reconcile vendor statements, manage AP aging, and answer vendor inquiries promptly.
• Prepare and file year-end 1099s.

General accounting

• Prepare month-end journal entries, including accruals, prepaids, and intercompany entries.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts such as bank, credit card, AP, accrued expenses, and intercompany balances.
• Track fixed asset additions, disposals, and transfers, including assets contributed to or returned from joint venture partners.
• Support month-end and year-end close, the annual review or audit.
• Recommend process improvements and help document AP and close procedures.

Qualifications

• 3-4 years of experience in accounts payable and general accounting.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, or equivalent experience.
• Solid understanding of accrual accounting, the month-end close, and account reconciliations.
• Experience processing high invoice volumes accurately and on deadline.
• Strong Excel skills, including VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, pivot tables, and SUMIFS.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage several entities and deadlines at once.
• Clear written and verbal communication with vendors, restaurant managers, and the accounting team.

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with Sage Intacct, especially multi-entity setups, AP automation, and dimensions.
• Experience with Craftable for restaurant purchasing, invoice capture, and inventory.
• Background in restaurant, hospitality, or multi-location accounting.
• Experience with intercompany accounting, joint ventures, or noncontrolling interests.
• Familiarity with sales tax, 1099 reporting, and supporting a CPA review or audit.
