Job summary

PACCAR Leasing Company is seeking a General Accounting Manager to lead the U.S. and Canada General Accounting functions, oversee daily A/P and A/R operations, and ensure timely financial reporting. You will coordinate with Corporate, Tax, and Treasury, and contribute to process improvements.

The role requires 7+ years of accounting experience with supervisory responsibilities; a Masters or CPA is preferred. Strong Excel and data analytics skills, plus experience with SAP, are desired.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of relevant accounting experience with increasing responsibility.
• Supervisory experience is required to lead a small team.
• Masters degree or CPA strongly preferred
• SAP experience preferred; Public accounting or audit experience is a plus.

Division Information

Requisition Summary

Responsible for managing the General Accounting functions for PACCAR Leasing Company. This position interacts closely with a variety of departments and personnel throughout the corporate headquarters including Canada and Controllers’ organization

Job Functions / Responsibilities

• Supervise, mentor and motivate staff of three accountants including hiring, training, cross-training, goal setting and performance appraisals.
• Manage day-to-day and month-end accounting for the U.S. and Canada General Accounting functions including daily Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable operations.
• Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements and analytical reports, including quarterly tax and external reporting packages.
• Review various journal entries, general ledger reconciliations and perform account analysis.
• Review various department expenditures and analyze variances between budget and actual results for monthly flash.
• Assist with preparation / review of forecasts and annual budgets as applicable.
• Responsible for development, and implementation of system initiatives including robotic process automations to reduce cycle time and improve department effectiveness and productivity.
• Establish and maintain effective communications with PLC operations, Corporate and PFC Treasury, PACCAR Tax Department and other accounting departments.
• Manage and coordinate quarterly reporting to Corporate Accounting and external auditors to support SEC filings and other information requests.
• Ensure strong internal controls are in place, including participating in internal control testing or operations reviews for U.S. and Canada and supporting internal/external audits.
• Coordinate and assist with special projects as assigned, including system implementations and championing various process improvements utilizing AI, Six Sigma and other data analytic tools.

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; including effective written and verbal skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
• Strong analytical and computer skills in Excel (i.e. pivot tables, macros, charts and graphs) and data analytic tools (i.e. tableau, etc.).
• Problem solver with ability to work independently and self-motivated, handling multiple tasks and shifting priorities.
• Positive attitude and “can-do” approach to issue resolution.

Education/Experience

REQUIRED:

• 7 + years of relevant accounting experience with increasing responsibility
• Supervisory experience

DESIRED:

• Masters degree or CPA strongly preferred
• SAP experience preferred
• Public Accounting or audit experience
