Job summary

PACCAR is seeking a senior accounting professional to join our Renton based team, driving general accounting, inventory valuation and internal controls. You will mentor staff, oversee month-end close, and ensure accurate financial reporting for multiple plants.

Lead plant accounting initiatives, coordinate with divisions and auditors, and support process improvements. A BS/BA in accounting and 8+ years of experience, CPA or Big 4 exposure, and SAP experience are highly valued for this

Qualifications

• BS/BA Accounting Degree.
• 8+ years of relevant accounting experience with increasing responsibility.
• Experience in manufacturing or inventory accounting preferred.
• CPA preferred.
• Big 4 public accounting experience preferred.
• SAP experience desired.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, mentor and motivate staff.
• Manage plant accounting day-to-day and month-end tasks for all accounting areas including inventory, payroll, accounts payable and other receivables.
• Ensure accurate inventory valuation and conduct on-site interim inventories and audits.
• Coordinate quarterly audits with off-site warehouses and partner with operations for inventory controls.
• Prepare forecasts, financial reports, cost analyses, and budgets.
• Review journal entries, GL reconciliations and variances.
• Coordinate with Division Office and auditors during reviews and audits.
• Support plant projects and provide back-up for other accounting areas as needed.

Requisition Summary

Ensure compliance with Corporate, Division and Plant policies for general accounting, inventory valuation and effective internal controls.

Job Functions/Responsibilities

• Supervise, mentor and motivate staff
• Manage plant accounting day-to-day and month-end tasks for all accounting areas including inventory, payroll, accounts payable and other receivables
• Ensure accurate inventory valuation based on performance & coordination of on-site interim inventories; build station audits, factor reviews, and assistance in planning and executing a bi-annual physical inventory
• Direct the coordination and completion of the quarterly statistical audits of off-site third-party warehouse inventory and partner with operations to ensure inventory controls are strong at third-party sites
• Direct the preparation of timely, accurate and meaningful forecasts, financial reports, cost analyses, inventory financial reports, account reconciliations and budgets.
• Review various journal entries, general ledger reconciliations and perform account analysis
• Review department expenditures and analyze variances between budget/forecast and actual results
• Responsible for coordination with Division Office, internal and external auditors during quarterly reviews and annual audits
• Support plant projects, including plant comparison, rearrangement events and system related projects. Also, provide back-up support for other accounting areas as needed

REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

• BS/BA Accounting Degree
• 8 + years of relevant accounting experience with increasing responsibility
