Job summary

Detroit Red Wings, Inc. is seeking a General Accountant to support general accounting tasks including cash applications, AP/AR, journal entries and month-end close.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance with 2–4 years of related experience, strong analytical skills, and proficiency in spreadsheets. Experience with Great Plains is preferred and adherence to high ethical standards is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 2–4 years related experience or equivalent.
• Demonstrates integrity and ethical standards.
• Excellent written and oral communication.
• Strong problem solving and analytical abilities.
• Understanding of accounting processes and controls.
• Proficient with spreadsheet software.
• Working knowledge of GAAP preferred.
• Experience with accounting software.

Responsibilities

• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
• Audit expense reports for approval, accuracy, reasonableness and policy compliance.
• Enter, post and reconcile payables and expense reports in accounting software.
• Audit and reconcile vendor statements.
• Post miscellaneous cash transactions and manage deposits.
• Record and reconcile sales and retail transactions.
• Prepare financial reports, cash flow, P&L, and month-end close support.
• Assist in annual budgeting and variance analysis.
• Support management with special projects and cross-training.
