Job summary

Sparteo is a remote-first AI advertising tech company. We are expanding our accounting team to take full ownership of recurring financial processes, from invoicing to tax filings. You will report to the Group Accounting Manager and collaborate with cross-border entities.

We value rigor, autonomy, and a proactive mindset as we automate more processes with Yooz, Spendesk, and AI tools. Fluency in French and professional English are required, with opportunities across Europe.

Qualifications

• Accounting degree (Bachelor’s to Master’s level).
• 3+ years in an accounting firm or 3 years as an accountant in a startup/scale-up.
• Rigor & follow-through; ownership of recurring work.
• Autonomy in a remote organization.
• Experience with Yooz, Spendesk or equivalent tools is a plus.
• Adaptable to automation and AI-assisted tools.
• Fluent French and professional English.

Responsibilities

• Banking: bank statement entry and reconciliation across the group entities.
• Monthly Closing: participate in monthly closing (CCA, FNP, FAE, ICNE).
• Payroll Entries: analytical split of salaries and bonuses, leave provisions.
• Fixed Assets & Intercompany: recognition and depreciation entries; intercompany entries.
• Billing: customer invoicing follow-up and weekly billing review.
• Collections: customer dunning and payment reminders.
• Purchase Invoices: processing in Yooz (import, review, workflow).
• Expenses: Spendesk review and reconciliation.
• VAT: monthly/quarterly VAT returns (CA3), VAT control file.
• DES: European Services Declaration.
• Corporate Taxes: IS installment payments and CVAE.
• DAS2: declaration preparation and filing.
• Accounting Tickets: follow-up of internal tickets (Jira).
• Process Documentation: support on finance process docs.

Discover our journey, products, and culture on our website Your JobAs Sparteo’s finance operations continue, we’re reinforcing the accounting team with a General Accountant able to take full ownership of recurring operational work, end to end. The rollout of automated invoicing is also reshaping how some of these tasks are handled, and we need someone who can adapt to that evolving setup.

This role requires real rigor and follow-through. As a remote organization, we’re looking for someone genuinely autonomous and self-driven. The role reports to the Group Accounting Manager.

Your Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

General Accounting

• Banking: Bank statement entry and bank reconciliation across the group’s entities.


• Monthly Closing: Participation in monthly closing: accrued charges (CCA), invoices not received (FNP), accrued expenses (FAE), accrued interest (ICNE).


• Payroll Entries: Analytical split of salaries and bonuses, paid-leave provisions and reversals.


• Fixed Assets & Intercompany: Fixed assets recognition and depreciation entries, intercompany entries.

Accounts Receivable / Accounts Payable

• Billing: Customer invoicing follow-up and weekly billing review.


• Collections: Customer dunning and payment reminders.


• Purchase Invoices: Purchase invoice processing in Yooz (import, review, user and workflow maintenance).


• Expenses: Expense management in Spendesk (review and reconciliation).

Tax

• VAT: Monthly / quarterly VAT returns per entity (CA3 filings), VAT control file and correction of VAT forms when needed.


• DES: European Services Declaration.


• Corporate Taxes: Corporate income tax (IS) installment payments and CVAE.


• DAS2: DAS2 declaration preparation and filing.

Internal Operations

• Accounting Tickets: Follow-up and resolution of Accounting tickets (Jira) raised by internal teams.


• Process Documentation: Support on Finance process documentation and ad hoc requests.

Your profile for this job

• Education: Accounting degree (Bachelor’s to Master’s level).


• Experience: At least 3 years of experience in an accounting firm (Cabinet d’expert-comptable), or 3 years as an accountant in a start-up / scale-up environment.


• Rigor & Follow-through: You take ownership of recurring work and see every topic through to the end.


• Autonomy: You are genuinely self-driven and comfortable working in a remote organization.


• Tools: Experience with Yooz, Spendesk or equivalent tools is a plus.


• Adaptability: You are open to automation and AI-assisted tools, and ready to adapt your work as automated invoicing rolls out.


• Languages: Fluent French (French accounting and tax environment) and professional English.
