Spiko is seeking a Head of Engineering to scale a tight-knit team in Paris or London, maintaining a high bar for talent, velocity, and quality. This hands-on leadership role demands deep involvement in architecture, delivery, and product decisions.

You will work directly with the founders to shape strategy, build an AI-native engineering organization, and drive core infrastructure while collaborating with product and regulatory domains.

Qualifications

• Proven track record leading a team of 20+ engineers.
• Experience at an A+ startup or scale-up during rapid growth.
• AI-first approach shaping processes, delivery, and vision.
• Hands-on coding, PR reviews, and architecture deep-dives.
• Product-oriented mindset with strong opinions on what to build.
• Exceptional ability to hire and maintain a high talent bar.

Responsabilités

• Own engineering delivery end to end: architecture, quality, velocity, and reliability of systems processing hundreds of millions of euros monthly.
• Triple the team within a year: source, close, and onboard top-tier engineers while keeping an uncompromising talent bar.
• In collaboration with the Product team, design the organization for that scale: team structure, ownership model, incident management, and security and compliance by design.
• Make AI a structural advantage: set the tooling, workflows, and standards that multiply every engineer's output.
• Stay hands-on: code, review, make architecture calls, and unblock the team on the hardest problems.
• Work directly with the founders on technical strategy, build vs. buy, and infrastructure and regulatory choices
