Job summary

CFS, a stable and established organization in Fort Wayne, Indiana, seeks a General Accountant to own the accounting function reporting directly to ownership. The role offers substantial autonomy, a predictable 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM schedule with little overtime, and outstanding benefits including employer-paid medical insurance for employees and their families.

You will gain exposure to accounting, finance, payroll, and select HR responsibilities while building relationships with ownership and key

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive, full-cycle accounting experience.
• Experience preparing financial statements, reconciliations, and month-end close.
• Payroll experience, including payroll tax exposure.
• Knowledge of Indiana withholding tax requirements preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly financial statements and oversee month-end close activities.
• Manage general ledger, account reconciliations, fixed assets, and depreciation.
• Process payroll, payroll taxes, and related compliance reporting.
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash management, and banking activities.
• Administer insurance programs and support select HR-related functions.
• Provide financial oversight and reporting support to ownership.
