Job summary

Rimland, a premier social service agency, is seeking a General Accountant in Des Plaines, IL. You will support the Accounting Manager and COO, reviewing financial statements, schedules and work papers, ensuring timely and accurate records.

Responsibilities include reconciliation, reporting, fixed assets, and month-end close tasks. Must have an accounting/finance degree and 1–3 years of experience, with strong Excel and QuickBooks Online skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting/Finance.
• Minimum 1–3 years accounting/finance experience.
• Strong working knowledge of financial statements.

Responsibilities

• Reconcile sub-ledgers to general ledger balances.
• Prepare financial statements and supporting schedules.
• Maintain and reconcile fixed assets schedules.
• Enter vendor invoices into QuickBooks Online and other entries.
• Coordinate with audit professionals for year-end reports.
• Prepare bank and credit card reconciliations monthly.
• Prepare and submit monthly billings for Rimland services.

About the Position

The General Accountant works closely with the Accounting Manager and is reportable to the Chief Operating Officer and is an important member of Rimland's Finance team. You will be responsible for providing accounting services including review of financial statements and supporting schedules and work papers.

• Reconciling sub-ledger to general ledger account balances
• Preparing financial statements
• Maintaining and reconciling fixed assets schedules
• Entering into QuickBooks Online, vendor invoices as received and other entries as necessary
• Coordinate with audit professionals in year-end audit reporting
• Prepare bank and credit card reconciliations on a monthly basis and continually look to improve existing procedures.
• Prepare and submit monthly billings for services provided by Rimland

What Makes You A Great Fit

• Undergraduate degree, or comparable, in Accounting or Finance
• 1 - 3 years of accounting/finance experience
• Knowledge and experience with QuickBooks Online
• Strong technical skills in Microsoft Excel
• Strong working knowledge of financial statements
• Ability to review open work and produce timely and accurate records
• Ability to act and operate independently with minimal daily direction from manager to accomplish objectives
• Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, and external agencies to maximize performance, creativity, problem solving, and results
• Applicants must be presently legally authorized to work in the United States for any U.S employer

Location & Schedule

Location: Des Plaines, IL

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00PM
