Job summary

Scorpion Therapeutics seeks an Associate Director, Gene Therapy Account Manager to support Vertex’s Casgevy access strategy in the Southeast (FL, GA, AL). This field-based role focuses on key account management, education, and payer engagement to optimize patient access.

Responsibilities include training ATCs, building stakeholder relationships, and coordinating cross-functional efforts to streamline access and reimbursement. Travel across assigned states is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Minimum 8 years in key account or sales management within biotech, device, or specialty fields such as Cell & Gene Therapy, Hematology, or rare diseases.
• HIPAA/CMMI knowledge preferred: inpatient/outpatient claims, managed care.
• Focus on gene therapy in hematology, complex access and reimbursement, patient journey support.

Responsibilities

• Serve as main contact for Activated Treatment Centers (ATCs).
• Facilitate training and education for stakeholders.
• Build stakeholder relationships and develop engagement strategies.
• Coordinate cross-functional efforts to streamline patient care and access.
• Maintain deep clinical expertise in Hematology (SCD, TDT, HSCT) and liaise with thought leaders.
• Communicate payer coverage, billing, coding, and reimbursement principles; escalate complex access issues.
