OpenAI invites an Applied AI Engineer, Government to join the Washington, DC team. You will partner with federal, state, and local agencies to design GenAI architectures using OpenAI APIs, deliver prototypes, and guide deployments with SI and partners.

Based in Washington, DC, the role requires 7+ years of technical consulting with public sector customers and strong programming skills in Python, Go, or TypeScript. Relocation support is available.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of technical consulting experience with public sector customers (U.S. federal preferred).
• GenAI or ML implementations for government agencies in collaboration with SI/partners.
• Strong communication skills translating business and technical topics.

Responsibilities

• Embed with public sector customers as the technical lead to ideate and build GenAI applications on OpenAI APIs.
• Identify the best GenAI applications and build a comprehensive AI roadmap backlog.
• Deliver prototypes and strategic guidance with partners to accelerate time-to-value.
• Forge relationships with customer leadership and partners to ensure deployment and scaling of applications.
• Contribute to open-source developer and enterprise resources.
• Scale Deployment Engineering through knowledge sharing and notebooks.
• Provide feedback to Product, Engineering, and Research teams.
