Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a GenAI Automation Architect to lead the adoption of Generative AI and agentic AI across the Quality Engineering lifecycle, accelerating automation and improving quality outcomes. You will collaborate with architects, engineering teams, product owners, data scientists, AI specialists, and business stakeholders to deliver AI-powered quality solutions.

The role is hybrid in Charlotte, NC, with four days in-office.

Qualifications

• 16+ years of experience in Quality Engineering, Test Architecture, Test Automation, and enterprise-scale quality transformation programs.
• Hands-on expertise in Generative AI and Agentic AI, including Prompt Engineering, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), AI-powered test automation, intelligent test design, defect prediction, and root cause analysis.
• Strong proficiency in Python, Java, Selenium, Playwright, API Automation, and the design of scalable, reusable test automation frameworks.
• Deep knowledge of modern AI ecosystems including Azure OpenAI, AWS Bedrock, LangChain, LangGraph, GitHub Copilot, Anthropic Claude, and AI orchestration frameworks.
• Proven experience defining Quality Engineering strategies, automation roadmaps, governance frameworks, and leading globally distributed engineering teams while delivering measurable business outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Lead the transformation of Quality Engineering practices through GenAI-powered automation and AI-assisted testing solutions.
• Design and implement intelligent AI agents for test case generation, automation development, defect analysis, self-healing frameworks, and legacy automation modernization.
• Architect enterprise-scale GenAI and Agentic AI solutions leveraging leading AI platforms, orchestration frameworks, and automation technologies.
• Define and execute the AI-driven Quality Engineering roadmap, governance strategy, responsible AI practices, and value realization metrics.
• Mentor engineering and QA teams while fostering an AI-first culture focused on innovation, continuous learning, and delivery excellence.
