Job summary

Apple is seeking a highly skilled AI Engineering Manager to lead the development and strategy of next-generation AIML products, platforms, and architecture from 0-1. You will drive the vision, roadmap, and execution for AI solutions across product lines, collaborating with data scientists, engineers, designers, and researchers.

The role emphasizes team leadership, governance, and a deep understanding of Conversational AI and GenAI in Commerce.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in Machine Learning and Software Engineering with successful launch of large-scale consumer-facing commerce products WW.
• 5+ years leading product and program teams and managing direct reports.
• Master’s degree in Computer Science, AI, Machine Learning or a related technical field.
• Experience positioning and launching of new AI powered products.
• Extraordinary verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to filter and distill relevant information for the right audience.
• Demonstrated ability to develop compelling talking points and stories about new AI powered product and technologies for a broad audience including internal/external stakeholders, leaderships, users etc.
• Strong experience leading cross-functional initiatives with a clear impact on the direction of products.
• Strong organizational skills, able to handle ambiguity with experience in thriving in a startup environment within a large organization.
• Strong python and software development coding experience, with the ability to build 0-1 product by oneself if needed.
• Proven customer focus and curiosity.
• Demonstrates attention to detail and enjoys both hands-on work and high-level strategic thinking.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of AI Architects, Engineering Program Managers, Prompt Engineers, AI Prototypers and Technical Product Managers.
• Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation and continuous learning within the team.
• Build streamlined processes, onboard new tools, and plan resources to support performance.
• Identify issues, manage risks, and re-plan as needed.
• Own the product lifecycle from ideation to launch and post-launch optimization.
• Define product vision and strategy for Conversational and Generative AI in Channel Sales and beyond.
• Develop a comprehensive product roadmap aligned with user needs and market trends.
• Set clear goals and priorities for the AI product portfolio.
• Conduct user research and gather feedback to inform iterations.
• Create compelling product documentation and presentations for stakeholders.
• Collaborate with ML and Software Engineers to build futureproof products.
• Monitor KPIs and provide insights for continuous improvement.
