Job summary

Charles Schwab is seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer to build and deploy GenAI solutions that enhance client experiences. You will design scalable data pipelines, integrate LLM capabilities, and collaborate across teams to deliver reliable, production-grade AI systems on-site in Austin.

You will mentor teammates and drive best practices while focusing on reliability, observability, and secure cloud architectures within Schwab Technology Services.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software/data engineering experience in enterprise-scale solutions.
• Strong Python development with data processing and pipeline focus.
• Experience designing and supporting ETL/data pipelines in cloud environments.
• Hands-on GCP experience with Cloud Run, GCS, Dataflow or similar.
• Experience integrating APIs, distributed systems, and enterprise apps.
• Data validation, quality controls, and data integrity practices.
• Experience debugging production issues and performing root cause analysis.
• Experience using source control and modern code versioning.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines in Python.
• Develop and optimize ETL processes for reliable data movement and transformation.
• Leverage GCP services to build production-ready data solutions.
• Integrate AI/LLM capabilities into enterprise applications and data flows.
• Ensure data integrity with validation, monitoring, and quality checks.
• Maintain monitoring, logging, alerting, and reliable production systems.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, data scientists, and stakeholders.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote engineering best practices.
