Job summary

The Travelers Companies, Inc. in Hartford, CT seeks a data science professional to design, build, and evaluate Generative AI solutions aimed at enhancing customer experience. This on-site role partners with business stakeholders to translate model results into actionable insights.

You will enable GenAI tools, mentor analysts, and explore emerging AI technologies, guiding prototypes toward scalable production capabilities while delivering practical business impact.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a STEM field or equivalent.
• 3 years of related experience.
• Strong knowledge of GenAI, modeling, analytics, or actuarial areas.
• Foundational GenAI knowledge: prompts, tools, RAG pipelines, grounding/attribution, hallucination mitigation.
• Experience with statistical analysis and reading/revising statistical software.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and evaluate GenAI solutions.
• Experiment with emerging AI technologies and support prototype development toward production readiness.
• Support GenAI tool enablement through user-focused partnership.
• Communicate analysis and results clearly to managers, peers, and business partners.
• Mentor junior analytical staff and assist in recruiting/talent assessment.
