Job summary

Freddie Mac is seeking a Senior Software Developer / Technical Lead in Automation Engineering and AI Solutions Development. You will design, build, and maintain scalable Python backend services powering GenAI solutions in a cloud-native environment.

The role emphasizes hands-on engineering, end-to-end delivery, and responsible AI practices. You will lead multi-agent systems, RAG pipelines, and observable AI platforms, coordinating with Risk, Security, and Governance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field.
• 8-10+ years of software engineering experience.
• Proficiency in Python for production-grade APIs, microservices, and backend services.
• Experience building AI-enabled applications, automation platforms, or intelligent software solutions.
• Experience integrating LLMs and AI services, including RAG or prompt engineering.
• Experience with MLOps/DataOps, observability, and monitoring tools.
• Familiarity with vector databases and modern AI architectures.
• Experience with cloud platforms like AWS Bedrock and Azure OpenAI; GitHub Copilot.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain Python-based microservices, APIs, and backend services powering GenAI apps.
• Lead automation framework design, RAG pipelines, and vector search solutions.
• Ensure deployment efficiency, high performance, and well-tested code.
• Build MCP servers and agentic AI tooling (Lead/Reviewer Agents).
• Create data pipelines and feature engineering workflows with feedback loops.
• Embed risk and controls into GenAI workflows; partner with Risk, Security, Governance.
• Establish project standards, scaffolding templates, and best practices.
• Collaborate across engineering, product, risk, security, governance; communicate to executives.
• Proactively raise issues and lead escalations.
