Job summary

Freddie Mac is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to maintain AWS infrastructure, automate deployments, and improve platform reliability across multiple IT applications. The role involves building CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins and Spinnaker for microservice deployments on Amazon EKS and OpenShift, while applying AI-driven monitoring and resiliency improvements.

The ideal candidate has 8–10 years in SDLC, strong AWS, and scripting in Groovy, Python, and Java.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
• 8-10 years delivering technology solutions through the SDLC.
• 5+ years in complex AWS and Unix environments.
• Experience or interest in applying AI in DevOps, including AIOps, intelligent monitoring, automation, and AI-assisted workflows.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for stakeholders at all levels.
• Knowledge of AWS, Python, Java, and Groovy; strong documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain AWS infrastructure and cloud environments for reliability, availability, security, compliance, and readiness.
• Manage Amazon S3 buckets including access controls, lifecycle policies, and data retention.
• Create and maintain Terraform templates for infrastructure provisioning and repeatable deployments.
• Perform production and non-production operations, including updates, patching, monitoring, and remediation.
• Support Amazon Aurora databases with monitoring, backups, and maintenance coordination.
• Develop automation using Groovy, Ansible, Selenium, and shell scripting.
• Develop CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins and Spinnaker for EKS/OpenShift deployments.
• Use code quality and security tools (Fortify, Blackduck, SonarQube) and manage Git/Bitbucket workflows.
