Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Gen AI Architect to design and lead agentic AI solutions that automate our data engineering platform. The role focuses on building autonomous agents that orchestrate pipelines, monitor quality, and optimize operations with minimal human intervention.

You will work across data pipelines, ETL/ELT, and observability layers, collaborating with engineering teams to set standards, guardrails, and governance for scalable AI-powered data workflows.

Qualifications

• 15+ years in software/architecture roles
• 2+ years hands-on experience designing or implementing agentic AI/LLM-based systems
• Solid foundational experience in data engineering and orchestration tools

Responsibilities

• Design end-to-end architecture for multi-agent systems that automate data engineering tasks
• Define agent design patterns, tool-use frameworks, memory/state management, and human-in-the-loop checkpoints
• Evaluate frameworks and establish architecture standards for LLM integration, prompt management, and retrieval-augmented generation
