Job summary

Cognizant is seeking an Agentic AI Frontier Engineer to lead architecture and engineering of Agentic and Generative AI solutions for enterprise clients. You’ll design multi-agent systems, implement governance, and guide delivery across PoCs, pilots, and production deployments.

You will partner with stakeholders across data scientists, security, and product teams to embed autonomous decision-making, human-in-the-loop controls, and responsible AI practices throughout the lifecycle.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in enterprise architecture or AI engineering with Generative AI focus.
• Hands-on knowledge of LLMs, prompt engineering, RAG, vector databases, and agent orchestration.
• Experience designing GenAI systems on hyperscalers (GCP, Azure, AWS).
• Strong understanding of API-driven architectures, microservices, cloud-native platforms, containers, and MLOps/LLMOps.
• Ability to explain complex technical concepts to business and technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Architect multi-agent systems with autonomous task planning, execution, reflection, and escalation.
• Design end-to-end GenAI architectures, including memory, tools, and human oversight.
• Define data ingestion, vector stores, prompt engineering, and integration layers.
• Embed Responsible AI principles and ensure governance and security compliance.
• Lead pre-sales, solutioning, and technical delivery for PoCs, pilots, and production.
