Job summary

Cognizant seeks a Forward Deployed Engineer to directly collaborate with clients, architects, product managers, data scientists, and engineering teams to rapidly design, build, and deploy AI, data, cloud, and digital solutions. You will lead technical workshops and deliver cloud-native, scalable architectures.

The role emphasizes Generative AI, agentic AI, and retrieval-augmented generation, with a focus on producing measurable business outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in software engineering, solution architecture, technical consulting, customer-facing engineering, or similar roles.
• Strong programming expertise in Python, Java, C#, JavaScript/TypeScript, or Go.
• Experience developing cloud-native solutions on Azure, AWS, or GCP including APIs, microservices, CI/CD, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, enterprise integrations, stakeholder management, and client-facing consulting engagements.
• Experience translating business requirements into scalable technical solutions and driving projects from concept through production deployment.

Responsibilities

• Partner directly with client stakeholders to understand objectives and translate them into scalable solution architectures.
• Lead workshops, assessments, and envisioning sessions to define implementation roadmaps.
• Design, develop, and deploy cloud-native apps, APIs, microservices, and enterprise integrations.
• Build AI solutions including Generative AI, agentic AI, and RAG to enable intelligent workflows.
• Own technical delivery across client initiatives, driving production readiness and measurable outcomes.
